Files
Route /files. A read-only file tree and viewer for the project.
The same two components run in the Inspector's Files tab in a thread; this screen is them given the whole window.
Reading
The tree on the left is lazy: a directory's children are read when you expand it, which is what makes it usable on a large repository. Selecting a file opens it in the viewer on the right.
The viewer is read-only. Files are shown with their line numbers; a file too large or too binary to display says so instead of filling the pane with noise.
Choosing the root
The picker in the header lists every project the app knows about — anything with a thread, plus anything you opened by hand. Open project… adds one.
On first load the root is the first project in the list, so the screen is never empty when there is something to show.
Where files come from
The tree and the viewer read through the main process, not through the core, and they are fenced: the root must be a project you opened in the native folder picker or the working directory of a live session. A path outside every allowed root is refused rather than read.
The diff review screen links here with Open in Files, which is how you read a whole file when the changed lines are not enough context.
